Love and Wisdom.

September 25, 2008

A wise man once said “You can’t be wise and in love at the same time.”

Ever wonder why the greatest people throughout history were single?  (For example, Buddha, Confucius, Jesus, Socrates, and countless others.) Well, its because they were wise. Being in love is not wise. Being in love is a gamble. Taking a chance. Going all in on a pair of twos at the beginning of a poker game. Trying to shoot a fly with a 22 caliber rifle. So, why do we insist on being in love? Well, its simple really, gravity. One trips, then falls, if your lucky someone picks you up.

Now, I’m not saying I’ve ever been in love or am hoping to be in the near future, because I haven’t and I’m not. But what I’m saying is that to be wise is to love everything. Not to pick and choose. Not to get specific. But to embrace everything, everyone, and the fact that our egos are our only enemy. And like most people who have adopted these ideas, you are most likely going to catch a bullet.

Love=Bliss; Wisdom=Happiness
